These are the two flasher modules, which are incorporated into the harness. If you want solid reliability, forget Mercury's electromechanical flasher unit and go with solid-state technology. You don't have to disconnect anything. Simply install the Mustang Project wire taps per the wiring diagram and plug everything right in.

Once the fasteners and bulbs are disconnected, the light housing can be removed. We wanted to give you a good look at the '67-'68 Cougar tailpanel. Important to remember is water sealing. When you reinstall the module, be sure it's watertight at both the lens and tailpanel with butyl sealer and/or new gaskets

The taillight module is comprised of four basic parts: trim work, lens, housing, and gaskets. Remove all of the locknuts with a 31/48-inch deep-well socket.
