The standard wristpin in a CP piston is made of 5100 chrome-moly, but pictured here are three upgrade options, which can be specified on a custom order. On the left is a more endurance-oriented 9310 pin, costing roughly twice the 5100 piece. In the middle is a 9310 with a heat and wear resistant diamond-like coating (DLC), and on the right is a 9310 with a Ceramic Micro-Dimple finish-a more economical upgrade available on 5100 pins as well. Other than a super lightweight titanium piece, wristpin weight is mostly a factor of wall thickness and length, rather than material composition.
