2006 Hertz Shelby GT Cold-Air Kit Upgrade

With the line routing handled, it's time to mount the bottle in the trunk. Mark the location of the holes in the bottle mounting brackets. Be sure to check underneath the car for exit locations so that you don't drill into something for an unwanted surprise (brake lines, wiring, fuel tank, and so forth).

With the bottle mounted, the line connection can be made as seen here. We're going to leave it up to the owner to cut the trunk mat around the bottle mounting brackets.

Back underhood, we see the 100hp sized jets being installed on the ends of the spray bar tube. The kit includes three jet sizes for 75, 100, and 150 hp.

With the nitrous oxide jet in place, the solenoid can now be installed. The fittings were secured using the correct AN wrenches to prevent damage to the fittings (an adjustable wrench covered in tape will work in a pinch -Ed.).

Here, the nitrous line is routed up from the underbody and into the engine bay from the trunk. It will now be attached to the nitrous solenoid.

The 100hp jet shown is calibrated to deliver the correct amount of additional fuel when the nitrous is engaged. The solenoid is installed over the jet in the same manner as on the nitrous side.

To get gasoline to the spray bar, we need to remove the top of the fuel rail pressure sensor located on the front of the driver-side fuel rail. Begin the process by unplugging the electrical connection.

Only two fasteners need to be removed to free the pressure sensor. Have a rag handy because there will be a small amount of fuel spilled.

This fuel adapter block is from the GMS kit. Here, we install the AN fitting for the additional fuel line. There is another port on the backside of the block that we won't be using, and it was fitted with an AN plug.

The billet rail adapter and pressure sensor are repositioned on the fuel rail. The longer fasteners that are required are included in the kit.

The length of AN fuel line is routed to the fuel solenoid and attached. The solenoid can be rotated to clear any obstacles and tightened in that position. Now, except for the wiring, we're ready to go.

Install the relay on the inner fender near the main fuse box and complete the wiring connections according to the instructions. Try to situate the window switch inside the car to protect it from the elements. Set the window switch to the desired rpm parameters according to the detailed instructions, and you're ready to get the bottle filled.
