Electric cooling fans 1 The latest CAA Mustang... 1 The latest CAA Mustang system is a Perfect Fit Elite kit with electronic controls replacing the old slide cables, updated interior vents, and improved instructions. This is a ’65-’66 Mustang kit, with ’67-’73 kits coming on line soon with these Elite system updates. 2 Some applications, like... 2 Some applications, like this system for ’48-’52 F-series trucks, utilize a center vent assembly with built-in cable controls. If the glovebox area requires modification, a replacement glovebox (far left in image) is provided. 3 For applications not listed... 3 For applications not listed above, CAA offers its custom Elite evaporator unit. The Elite is fully electronically controlled, allowing the controls to be mounted anywhere (overhead console, center of dash, floor console, and so on) and the plumbing exits to the side of the case versus the front, providing for a smooth firewall look in custom applications as well. 4 For some, the stock rectangular... 4 For some, the stock rectangular vents provided in several of the Ford kits don’t work well with the dash the owner has designed because of the vent’s bright chrome trim surround. Now CAA offers these vents in plain black. 5 Of course, for the restomod... 5 Of course, for the restomod or Pro-Touring crowd, if it’s not billet, it’s not good enough (for some), and CAA has a selection of billet vents that will work in its housing and duct systems. CAA can start with a standard Perfect Fit system and work with you to modify and upgrade the content as you like, including vent design, control type, show options, and more. 6 For the utmost in show... 6 For the utmost in show looks, how about upgrading the underhood portion of your CAA system with a polished compressor and braided AN hoses? They’ll wow the show judges and cruise-in bystanders every time the hood is opened. Old Air Products
For more than 20 years, the folks at Old Air Products have been working with one simple thought in mindùbuild a heat/cool/defrost system that will fit virtually any car, and design brackets and installation kits around this system to provide specific car kits to the masses. Over the years, this thought has expanded with a large selection of louvers, controls, stock replacement parts for those who already have a factory air system in place, upgraded radiator and fan cooling systems, and more. Today, Old Air Products has a full range of direct-fit Hurricane heat/cool/defrost systems for Mustangs, bolt-in aluminum radiators with and without electric fans, and much more for the classic Ford crowd. A/C hose and tubing 1 cool-only option based... 1 cool-only option based off of an underdash evaporator with a plastic housing similar to the original fiberglass and chrome steel factory offering. The faceplate features a brushed aluminum finish and is available for ’65-’68 Mustangs. The complete package, with compressor, condenser, mounting bracket, pulley, and hoses is shown here. 2 For the ’65-’73 Mustang,... 2 For the ’65-’73 Mustang, Old Air Products offers its Hurricane heat/cool/defrost systems. The ’65-’66 system mounts in place of the stock heater box and uses underdash vents for cooling, while the ’67-’68 (shown here) utilizes an OE-looking in-dash vent setup and integrates with the factory dash controls, either cable or optional electric. A new electronic control option is available that is built into a reproduction factory A/C control/vents, as seen in the kit in this photo, and includes an electric water bypass valve. The ’69-’73 Mustang systems are currently cable operated only. 3 For those of you with Eleanor... 3 For those of you with Eleanor conversions, or at least using an Eleanor-style front fascia, Old Air Products offers a special edition ’67-’68 Mustang A/C system with a condenser and mounting brackets designed for the different grille opening of these cars. This Hurricane system also includes billet aluminum corner vents. The kit does not come with a compressor or a mounting bracket due to varied engine options seen in these cars. 4 If you already have factory... 4 If you already have factory A/C on your ’65-’70 Mustang, Old Air Products offers its underhood A/C performance kits. These kits upgrade the underhood components for maximum cooling performance and include a rotary-style compressor, bracket/adapter, Superkool condenser assembly with factory style dryer, expansion valve, A/C hose set and necessary hardware. Vintage Air
It's been three decades since Jack Chisenhall opened the doors at Vintage Air, and the company is far from resting on its laurels. While originally pioneering aftermarket air conditioning products for the street rod and hot rod market back in the late 1970s, Vintage Air has kept its fingers on the proverbial pulse of the air conditioning industry and has had numerous firsts in its product lineup. From complete in-house product design, engineering, and manufacturing of cases, ducts, and more from its own molds, Vintage Air's product line continues to grow. Vintage Air has even worked with the OE, including providing the same style Gen-IV hardware for the Ford GT supercar that you can get for your classic Ford. Systems Available

Fan shrouds 1 Vintage Air’s SureFit systems... 1 Vintage Air’s SureFit systems feature a Gen-IV Magnum evaporator case at the base of the system. The Gen-IV is fully electronically controlled and uses a high-flow evaporator coil. You can use the included cable converters for the OE dash controls, or fit any one of several Vintage Air control panel kits to your custom interior. Note the ’65-’66 Mustang kit shown here is the complete kit. Evaporator-only kits are available if you already have your underhood components. 2 Here’s a close-up detail... 2 Here’s a close-up detail of the Vintage Air cable converters mounted to a reproduction ’68 control panel. The cable converters attach to the mechanical levers and turn the slide movement of the lever into an electronic signal that the Gen-IV computer can use. 3 If you’re going with some... 3 If you’re going with some sort of custom dash or console, you might opt for relocating the A/C controls. Or perhaps you want something a little more modern looking, like a traditional three-dial rotary control panel as used in newer Mustangs. Vintage Air has a selection of billet controls for the Gen-IV (as well as its earlier Gen-II systems) that are plug-and-play with its A/C system. They are available in polished or black anodized and in vertical and horizontal mounting configurations and include backlighting like an OEM control. 4 With three pages of louvers/vents... 4 With three pages of louvers/vents in the Vintage Air catalog, you’re bound to find something that fits your interior perfectly. From satin, polished, and anodized billet aluminum to plastic ball vents and rectangular louver vents Vintage Air has numerous styles to fit any budget or look. We like these venturi-style vents that look like a carburetor or throttle body blade. 5 Bulkhead fittings are a... 5 Bulkhead fittings are a trick way to route air conditioning and/or heater hoses through firewalls or inner fender aprons. The bulkheads give the hose routing a clean and finished look, and are available in polished and black anodized billet aluminum and in two- and four-hose configurations in square, diamond, and inline patterns. 6 Vintage Air is always searching... 6 Vintage Air is always searching for solutions to installation issues, and one such answer is its Front Runner serpentine drive systems. Available for small-block Fords, the Front Runner is a clean-sheet-design serpentine pulley system that uses a replacement timing cover made from a machined forging to mount all accessories to directly for the utmost in strength and compact fitment. The system is available in polished and black hard coat anodized finishes with and without power steering Air Conditioning Installation Tips And Tricks 1 In this ’69 Mustang with... 1 In this ’69 Mustang with a full custom interior, the A/C vents were painted to match the dash insert for a custom touch. Plus, the Vintage Air controls were removed from their bracket and mounted directly into the face of the console for an OE look. 2 If you’re looking to keep... 2 If you’re looking to keep your air conditioning system out of sight, you can actually hide the vent assemblies in the kick panels, under the dash, or in the console like the one shown here. The vents can be pulled out manually or activated by vacuum or electric to pop out when the system is turned on. 3 A two-port heater hose... 3 A two-port heater hose bulkhead fitting makes this ’65 Mustang’s underhood area even more detailed. Bulkhead fittings really neaten up your heater and air conditioning plumbing, and give your ride that custom look. 4 When it comes to engine... 4 When it comes to engine swaps you can sometimes reuse the compressor fittings, like the standard threaded fittings on this 5.0L swap in this Falcon. Newer engines often use spring lock fittings for assembly line ease and will require an aftermarket solution. Check out Doc’s Blocks [www.docsblocks.com; (888) 910-8844] for a solution to these installs. It has compressor blocks that replace the OE block with a standard #8 and #10 O-ring fittings to connect to standard A/C hoses.
