Successful sill-plate-molding installation depends on proper carpet trimming. Carpet should be trimmed at the edge of the rocker panel. Where the two pieces of carpet meet, trim the thick seam down to where the sill molding meets the seat pan. This way, the sill molding won't bulge. Because reproduction sill moldings aren't the caliber they could be, don't overtighten the screws. Overtightening will run the screw head through the aluminum.  Restomod means going the factory...
