This connecting rod is an MPG exclusive because it's actually a 5.470-inch Honda race rod ready for installation in your small-block Ford. This gives MPG a good rod ratio and longer dwell time at each end of the bore. Note the smaller 0.870-inch pin and 1.848-inch journal diameter. Why? To reduce internal friction and free up some ponies. This calls for a Scat special-grind steel crank from MPG with smaller rod journals.
