This is a typical Autolite single-point distributor. It has a conventional vacuum-advance unit that is adjustable. Original equipment vacuum-advance units used shims against spring pressure to control the rate of advance. Replacement aftermarket vacuum-advance units are adjusted via the vacuum port with an Allen wrench. View Related Article
