[2] As we mentioned in the opening text, the 289 is stock, save for a Mallory ignition system and some Anderson Ford Motorsport plug wires. The engine still sports its stock cast-iron log manifolds and has been converted to dual exhaust. The owner isn’t looking so much for a huge gain in horsepower, but better driveability, smoother driving (important for those slow-moving parades), and longer drives between visiting the gas station.
