We started with an almost-bone-stock 289, a Fred Jones Remanufactured unit that was installed in our ´66 GT coupe back in the mid-´80s. For 15 years, it ran just fine with a factory cast-iron four-barrel intake, replacement 600-cfm Holley, enclosed air cleaner, and stock log-type exhaust manifolds. With a little cleanup, this engine could go right into the concours class. View Related Article
