We moved downstairs again to install the reproduction early Mustang oil pan from Mustangs Etc. This is a quality piece and we were pleased with the fit. Steve suggested a thin film of sealer on both sides of the gasket, along with a thin film between the rubber gaskets and the mains. Use plenty in the corners where the pan and main seals meet. Then evenly torque the pan bolts. Yes, we remembered to install the oil pump and shaft. Don’t forget to check crankshaft-to-oil-pump clearance. View Related Article
