Warning lights (except the charge light) all illuminate when the ground is completed via the sender. Oil-pressure senders ground (light on) when pressure drops to less than 5 pounds. Coolant-temperature senders ground when coolant temperature rises above a predetermined point (220-230 degrees). Whenever youre dealing with a Check Engine light, this light will come on whenever coolant temperature is too high or oil pressure is too low because it is tied to both senders. View Related Article
