8 On the dragstrip, we were hampered by one-wheel traction and really old rubber. Still, the Mustang trotted to a 15.46 at 92 mph. A timing adjustment led to better speeds, but we couldn’t get the short times down. The results were a 15.51 at 93.40 mph, and a 15.40 at 93.90 mph. Our best 60-foot time of the day came in at a snail-like 2.51 seconds. We probably could have dropped another two tenths off our elapsed times had we been able to utilize all of the available horsepower from the 289. View Related Article
