1 In order to remove the 8-inch center section, the axles will need to be removed first. Each axle is retained by four T-bolts with locking nuts. These also retain the brake backing plate. Raise the rear of the car, remove the wheels, and using the access hole in the axle flange, remove the four lock nuts for each axle. View Related Article
