You may have already seen the video talking about the suspension we used on our Classic Performance Parts Week To Wicked 1966 Mustang, but the company also has a steering kit that seriously livens up the stock Mustang steering system. They installed part number 6566PSK-SB that includes everything you need to upgrade an early Mustang’s steering to a much more modern, almost rack & pinion feel.

One of the nice things about this steering system is that it uses a small 400 Series box that replaces the leak-prone hydraulic ram and hoses used in the stock Mustang steering, making it more compact in the engine compartment and void of annoying fluid leaks that we’ve just learned to live with in stock Mustangs. The recirculating ball steering box has a 13:1 ratio for quick reaction, and the kit also includes a new power steering pump (with or without remote reservoir), new center link, pitman and idler arms, and rag joint or steering shaft U-joints. We also used an ididit Pro Lite column to connect steering system to driver.

So check out this video as Tech Editor Mark Houlahan and CPP’s Danny Nix as they show all the parts we installed on the Week To Wicked ’66 Hardtop. For more information, check out the company’s website at ClassicPerform.com.
