The Classic Performance Parts Week To Wicked 1966 Mustang needed a touch of body work and then a complete repaint before we pulled it into the shop for our week of insanity, and that was capably handled with product from Axalta. Because the painter, Superstition Restoration, is in Arizona they chose to use solvent-based material from Axalta, in our case 2016 Ford Competition Orange.

As a company, Axalta just celebrated 150 years in the coatings industry. They have 51 manufacturing facilities, four global tech centers, over 30 technology laboratories, 47 customer training centers, and do business in 130-plus countries. There are 1,400 distributors, 13,300 employees, over 1,000 patents, and did $4.4 billion dollars in net sales last year. Yeah, that’s a HUGE paint company!

Suffice it to say, they had the perfect paint, primer, and everything else we needed to make our ’66 Mustang burn retinas country-wide. Check out Axalta’s website for much more about the killer paint and materials they offer to professionals and home garage painters alike.
