Well, it's that time of year again. Another holiday season has come upon us in less time than it takes a Top Fuel dragster to go a quarter-mile, and we believe gift ideas for your loved ones are always appreciated and needed. Besides, giving out socks and underwear for the past 24 years (hint-hint, Mom!) can get a bit tiring. Thanks to this year's all-inclusive holiday gift guide, consider the MM&FF staff your gift-idea specialists.

We flipped through magazines and catalogs, searched the Internet, and sent out a few private investigators to hunt down the coolest, baddest, raddest, and all-around best gifts we could find. Whether they serve a function or simply add to your already expansive collections, grab a couple of biscottis, maybe a cup of spiked eggnog or some espresso with a little bit of Sambuca, and enjoy quality reading time by the fire. Oh yeah, have your telephone and credit card handy-you might need them.

Whether in your garage, basement, or somewhere in between, one of Holley's retro metal shop signs will add flavor to any room. The signs are a throwback to the old speed shop and service station style of the '60s, but with new spice. The Hooker Headers sign goes for $25, while other metal signs offered are $30.

Do you get stressed out when it's time to go to your company holiday party because you know your significant other will inevitably make you late? While you're sitting on the couch fuming, you can watch the nitrous pressure rise on the NOS wall clock from Jeg's. Priced at $36.99, the clock requires one AA battery to run. The nighttime hours are marked in red, and while personally we think they should have marked off happy-hour times, it's all good.

Winter is a great time to upgrade your safety equipment before the start of the next racing season. One of the best things to ask for is a new helmet. If your significant other really loved you, they'd not only spend the $394.99 for a helmet like this Simpson Voyager, but the $14.99 for the helmet visor blinder, too. The visor comes in either smoked, amber, or clear, and why you're at it, don't forget the Jeg's helmet bag to protect your new skid lid. The bag is available in black or yellow and costs $19.99.

Instead of coal, how about a bone for Christmas? C'mon, get your mind out of the gutter-we're talking about the Bone Creeper from Jeg's. Made from high-strength plastic, the creeper provides easy rolling resistance and is designed to give you additional room under the car, along with increased back support and reduced fatigue. The creeper will set you back only $99.99.

Don't lie down on that dirty asphalt driveway while working on your Mustang or fast Ford. Instead, ask for Summit's pit mat. Measuring 49 inches by 18 inches, the mat is nonabsorbent, flame-resistant, and comfy. It's also well priced at $17.95.

If like us you'd rather change your car's oil than take it to the local joint, then Summit's aluminum hydraulic floor jack with wheel chocks is right up your alley. Capable of lifting 3,000 pounds, the jack is small and light but able to handle the weight of your Mustang. The included chocks are made of black composite and will make sure the car doesn't move while you have it jacked up. This floor jack is a steal at $79.95.

Summit's Pro Blower is an awesome gift that will really help out when working on the car in the summer, or, for all of the bracket racers out there, cooling down the car between rounds. The blower pushes 300 cfm of air with two different speed choices and is super-quiet. The blowers run for $89.95.

Here are some nifty items that are great gift ideas. Instead of using your thumb to spray the water from the hose onto your Mustang, have Santa stuff the S.M. Arnold spray nozzle from Summit into your stocking. At $5.99, the nozzle has seven different patterns to suit your car-washing needs. It also has a heavy-duty trigger and rubber-grip handle.

The first thing you probably imagine when you hear the words safety glasses are those geeky, oversized ones you had to wear in high-school science class. The teacher was right in that the glasses are there for your safety, but for us image-conscious people, the solution to combining eye protection and looks are the MSA Safety Work custom-fit safety glasses. The special UV 400 lens protects your eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays, while the plastic material keeps out debris. You can pick up the glasses for $9.95.

Summit also offers Speedtech Instruments' Skymaster weather meter for $159.95. It makes a great gift for the bracket racer in your life. The weather meter is designed to measure wind speed, temperature, wind chill and heat index, relative humidity with dew point, altitude, and barometric pressure.

OK, so these next few items may not fit in the stocking, but they would be awesome wrapped and placed under the tree. To make sure you don't scratch the paint of the fender while working on your Ford, grab one of Summit's fender covers. Complete with either the Summit or Summit Racing Equipment logos, the fender covers are made from durable leather-grain vinyl and stuffed with heavy-duty foam. At only $8.95, the covers are a great investment.

Keep the floor of your garage clean with Summit's carpet absorber. Measuring 18x24 inches, the absorber is coated on the bottom with a non-slip material, and prevents those fluid drips from staining the floor. The absorber runs $9.95.

Next up is the Clarke Power Products 500-watt halogen light. Easy to carry around, it will illuminate the garage or undercarriage of your car like it's high noon. The light will lighten up your wallet only $13.95.

Summit's hand riveter set has everything needed to fasten together just about anything you can come up with. The rivet gun is a heavy-duty model with vinyl grip handles that hold the rivet nozzles and nozzle wrench, along with rivets. The rivet gun is priced at $8.95.

Whether it's a musty smell in your Mustang or you just bought your new ride from a smoker, the 12-volt air purifier from California Car Cover will help get rid of those nasty odors. The purifier plugs into the cigarette lighter socket of your car and provides fresher air. It looks cool with its illuminated tip, too. The purifier comes in blue, chrome, or red, and will run you $19.99.

You might end up with some busted knuckles if your mother catches you reaching into the Busted Knuckle Garage gas-pump cookie jar from California Car Cover, but it would be an awesome item to wrap and place under the tree. The ceramic cookie jar has a lift-off lid and is a limited-edition collectible. Ring up the credit card to the tune of $59.99 for the cookie jar.

The tray comes complete with a magnetic strip that will keep the items from rolling around. The creeper is priced to sell at $19.99.

Show off the Ford Racing colors and keep warm during the holiday season with Ford Racing Performance Parts' twill jacket from Late Model Restoration. If you thumb through the Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog, you can put together a grab-bag of Ford items that would go great in a holiday basket. The Ford Racing floor mats ($34) will spruce up the interior of any Ford vehicle, while the brushed-aluminum fuel-fill door ($95) will enhance the outward appeal of '05-and-newer Mustangs.

Before you go out driving, don't forget to fill up the Ford Racing stainless steel travel mug ($15.84) with a hot cup of joe.

If that doesn't keep you warm during the happiest season of all, the Ford Racing windbreaker will. It's available in medium to double XL sizes, and runs $58.

Don't forget to show off your Ford pride when you pop the hood of your mod-motor-equipped Stang with the billet painted Ford Racing oil cap. The $44 cap fits all 4.6, 5.8, and 6.8 mod motors.

While you're screwing on the cap, make sure you protect the fenders of your vehicle by slapping on a set of Ford Racing fender covers ($10.95).

After the turkey dinner you ate on Christmas runs through your exhaust system, you'll need some reading material to take with you to the throne. Along with your copy of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, bring a couple of books from CarTech Auto Books and Manuals, such as the High Performance Mustang Builder's Guide 1994-2004 written by our good buddy Sean Hyland. The book offers tips for jacking up the power level of your 5.0 pushrod engine or 4.6 modular powerplant. Priced at $24.95, you might not want to go back to the table for dessert.

For the Steeda fan in your household, there are a host of gift ideas that can be stuffed in the stocking or wrapped up and placed under the tree. Let's start off with Steeda's leather sports duffle bag. It's durable, made of genuine leather, and at $25 is great for a weekend ride to a Fun Ford or NMRA race.

While it isn't a Rolex, the Steeda sports watch is a stylish way to tell time and show off your Steeda allegiance. The watch features glow-in-the-dark hands and retails for $19.

Impress your friends when you whip out the keys to your Stang with Steeda's engraved sports keychain. At just $4, it's a great stocking stuffer.

Another great gift idea is the coaster set for your coffee table or lounge area. Featuring the Steeda logo, the coaster set comes with holder and four coasters for $15.

Finally, don't forget to pick up the Steeda sun visor and flex-fit baseball cap for when you go out to the races. The sun visor is great for the females in your family, while the ball cap will look great on the dudes. The sun visor retails for $9.95
the ball cap for $15.95.

We already talked about the Ford Racing stainless steel coffee mug, but if you're traveling with the wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, fiance, or mistress (huh boy!), they might want a hot cup of coffee also. To avoid sipping their no cream/no sugar combination instead of your light and sweet choice, pick up Steeda's travel mug to go along with the FRPP mug. The Steeda mug is also made of stainless steel and has a flip lid to avoid spills. The price is only $8.95.

If you can't afford the real thing, why not get a smaller version? Thanks to diecastmusclecar.com, you can get a 1:18-scale '07 Shelby GT500 die-cast car for someone you love or, better yet, yourself. The collectible features an opening hood, trunk, and doors, and is so lifelike you wish you could shrink down and hop right in. The GT500 will be available shortly.

Contact diecastmusclecar.com for pricing.

Also from diecastmusclecar.com are these 1:18-scale beauties from AutoART. The Ford Racing FR500C Mustang is a replica of the No. 55 Grand-Am Cup GS car, and is one sweet, little piece of work. The FR500C replica debuted in August, so be sure to call now and get out the $80.95 before they fly off the shelves. While you're at it, don't forget to pick up an '03 Mach 1 Mustang die-cast. Featuring opening hood, doors, and trunk, the Mach 1 is a cool, little car that actually has real carpeting in the trunk and the interior. The Mach 1 comes in the same colors offered by Ford, and runs $52.99.

GMP offers a host of gorgeous die-cast collectibles, two of which are the 1:12-scale USRCC Cobra and the GT40 MKIV. The Cobra features incredible detail, workable latches for the hood, trunk, and doors, and a working shifter. The GT40 is a replica of the '67 model driven by Mario Andretti in road-racing competition. It features opening doors, functioning steering, suspension, a removable front end, and a tilt-back engine bay cover. Each die-cast will set you back $499.95.

Why display your die-cast cars behind glass when you can show them off? Arguably the coolest gift we have seen is GMP's 1:18th-scale dragstrip diorama. Reminiscent of the old dragstrip starting lines of the late '60s, the diorama comes complete with two track workers, two drivers for 1:18-scale slingshot dragsters, and a replica of the old five-bulb Chrondex Christmas Tree. Priced at $69.95, you can use the rest of your available cash to pick up Crazy Ben's Rat Rod ($99.95) and a 1:24th-scale '68 Shelby GT500KR convertible ($129.55).

When the '93 Cobra R from GMP came in for the photo shoot, we had to pry it out of the hands of Editor Smith. The die-cast edition of the Fox-body R-model is just as stellar as the real thing. Like the other GMP replicas, the Cobra R features opening doors, hood, and trunk. The suspension and steering work, and if you look closely, you'll see all of the Cobra R-specific interior options. The engine is wired and plumbed, the front seats fold, and the seatbelts are retractable. For $99.95, you can give a small piece of Mustang lore to the Stang lover in your house.

Not only does GMP sell die-cast cars and dioramas, but it also offers some cool accessories that would make great accompanying gifts to those die-cast cars you carefully giftwrapped. GMP's drag tire set is only $9.95 and can be placed either on a diorama or "bolted" on to a GMP 1/18th-scale replica. Add some human appeal to your diorama with either the Greaser or Car Wash figurines, both of which are priced at $39.95. Finally, keep your eyes peeled for the '67 427-powered Ford Fairlane seen here. While we were able to photograph the prototype, the real Fairlane will be available to the public shortly.
