Wrinkled Coyote

The Coyote engine is only a couple years old and it's already developed wrinkles. Or should we say, Comp Cams [(800) 999-0853; www.compcams.com] has developed these wrinkle-finish, powdercoated coil covers for Coyote engines. The die-cast aluminum coil covers are designed to bring a new level of stylish function to your Mustang's engine. The sleek and durable covers are finished off with a laser-etched logo to provide a performance look for your Mustang's engine compartment.

Direct Pump

Now you can finally have a direct-replacement fuel pump for your '98-'04 Mustang with Brothers Performance's [(800) 486-2681; www.brothersperformance.com] new direct-fit, variable-flow fuel pump kit ($259.99). This Brothers Performance fuel pump can be used as a stock replacement or an upgrade when running a higher horsepower engine. The 290-lph fuel pump allows for great driveability in stock or highly modified Mustangs.

Twist and Cover

Auto Meter gauges are so popular in Mustangs, they should've come with them from the factory. With Twist Machine's [(386) 236-8289; www.twistmachine.com] new billet gauge bezel covers, you can draw even more attention to your Mustang's Auto Meters. CNC-machined from billet aluminum, each bezel cover is finished by hand, and polished to a chrome-like shine or black anodized. They install without modification or disassembly of your dash, attaching by way of included pressure activated silicone dots. Twist Machine covers are available with polished black-anodized finishes, and solid or drilled styles. They fit 5-, 33/8-, 25/8-, and 21/16-inch diameters covering Auto Meter's most popular gauge sizes. They do not fit other brands of gauges.

Stepping Up

Summit Racing [(800) 230-3030; www.summitracing.com] is focused on making your Mustang faster. Case in point, the company carries these new Pypes Performance stepped headers for '11-'13 Mustang GTs. The stepped headers take advantage of a gradual increase in the diameter of the primary tubes. The primary tubes start at 1.750 inches, steps up to 1.875 inches, and finishes with a 3-inch collector. Stepping like this is designed to increase horsepower and torque. Plus, these are full-length, stainless-steel headers, and we know those Coyote engines breathe deep.

New Edge Boost

As the owner of a New Edge Bullitt, I can attest to the fact that these cars need all the help they can get. To that end, Latemodel Restoration Supply [(866) 507-3786; www.latemodelrestoration.com] has this '96-'04 Mustang GT tuner kit. This SVE tuner kit includes a chrome cold-air intake and an SCT SF3 handheld tuner. Latemodel claims this kit will help increase your Mustang's all-around performance by adding more airflow, as well as fine-tuning the PCM to adapt to new performance modifications.

Billet Diamonds

We're seeing more and more big-block Ford engines being built for 10.5W and Outlaw Drag Radial classes. To help with these buildups, Diamond Racing Pistons [(877) 552-2112; www.diamondracing.net] has these new billet racing pistons for power-adder combinations. Produced from 2618 material and designed for use in race engines, Diamond's latest innovations reduce reciprocating mass by up to and beyond 40-grams per piston. Changes in the layout of the piston's struts and webs as well as the introduction of sizable apertures to the pin bosses account for impressive savings of 20 to 30 grams. Diamond completes the package with Trend's toughest and hardest piston pins, the new TP1, and Total Seal's ring packs 1/16- 1/16-, 3/16-inch, or 1.5, 1.5, 3mm. Lastly, these pistons are offered in Diamond's double-coat (hard-anodized with moly skirt) or uncoated.

Fiber Air

Yes, many Mustang fans have fallen in love with carbon fiber. This system starts with a real-carbon-fiber, 4.25-inch-diameter intake tube and incorporates a special billet plate to accept the factory mass airflow sensor. A cold-air box keeps hot engine air from going into the engine, and it even utilizes the factory cold-air scoop. Finishing off the system is a 1,300-cfm air filter, designed to provide the engine with a steady supply of clean ambient air. Airaid claims this system is good for an additional 11 horsepower and 11 lb-ft of torque.

Toughen Up

Tubular IRS

Kenny Brown Performance [(855) 847-4477; www.kennybrown.com] recently released its updated line of Advanced Geometry independent rear suspension components designed to fit '99-'04 SVT Cobras. Along with new manufacturing, several changes have been made, including a redesigned upper control arm and other updates to weight, strength, and function. Kenny's Advanced Geometry independent rear suspension is designed to replace the OEM suspension components to offer racing-inspired suspension geometry, a 40-percent reduction in weight, and a conversion to coilover shock design. A complete independent rear suspension upgrade consists of Kenny Brown's tubular rear-lower control arms, tubular rear-upper control arms, IRS rear-steer kit, IRS forward torque brace, aluminum IRS differential bushings, and coilover rear-upper shock mounts. There are also a range of coilover shocks available depending on the application.
