ESPN has just announced that Detroit, Michigan has been chosen as one of the final four cities in the running to host the X Games for 2014-2016. The Detroit bid team went ahead and started campaigning with the release of a video with their Ford Fiesta ST going all-out Detroit-style for the upcoming X Games.

Ford Racing received a call from the bid team to campaign Detroit’s bid for the X Games. OlsbersMSE (OMSE) Team Principal Andreas Eriksson went ahead and tested the brand-new Ford Fiesta ST rallycross car around the city for filming. Thanks to Eriksson, OMSE has secured two consecutive Global Rallycross Manufacturers’ Championships for Ford so, of course, Ford Racing was thrilled to have him test the zippy new race car through the streets of its hometown.

The Motor City is full of awesome and iconic places to test the Fiesta ST such as the parking lot of Cobo Hall, which is a perfect setting against the Detroit skyline. More places providing incredible settings for testing include the Detroit Train Station and Belle Isle Park, iconic landmarks located throughout the city. Saturday proved to be an optimal time to test this bad little ST with a professional driver planted behind the wheel on a closed course.

Thanks to the X Games Detroit bid team, Ford Racing has released some a sweet compilation of highlights for your viewing of the Fiesta ST’s adventures around its home city.

Come on folks! Let us bring the X Games to Detroit!
