As if the Carlisle Ford Nationals weren’t going to be awesome enough already, former Formula Drift series champion and ace Mustang wheelman Vaughn Gittin Jr. is returning to the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, to meet the masses and perform some of his tire-shredding shenanigans in his Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR. This will be Gittin’s second appearance at a Carlisle event as he attended Carlisle’s Performance & Style back in 2011.

"Having Vaughn Gittin, Jr., come back to Carlisle to be part of the Carlisle Ford Nationals is a real honor,” said event manager Ken Appell in a statement. "Vaughn is a world champion racer and his popularity within the hobby should provide an exciting boost to an already jam-packed weekend. I encourage everyone to take some time to meet him, see him perform and enjoy our event."

Gittin has become as a household name in the sport of drifting the world over behind the wheel of his signature Ford Mustangs. The tire-slayer is the only American to have won a D1 Grand Prix event not once, but twice, and he also took home the 2011 Formula Drift Championship. The 2013 Formula Drift season is underway and with two rounds complete Gittin is holding down first place.

Gittin also started his own package for 2010 and newer Mustangs called the RTR Mustang, teaming up with Ford to offer the packages for anybody looking to give their Mustang some Gittin flavor. The RTR package has been a hit with Mustang enthusiasts and is still available for installation at Ford dealers.

"I am really pumped to make it out to the Carlisle Ford Nationals this year," said Gittin, who’s bringing his huge hauler full of five of his prized vehicles for spectators to gawk over. "I've heard nothing but awesome things about the event over the last couple years and I can't wait to hang out with all my fellow Ford fanatics and get a bit crazy in my Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR for them all!”
