Rare 1957 Supercharged Ford Thunderbird F-Bird Crossing Mecum Auction
The next Mecum auction takes place October 10-12, 2013 in Chicago where one rare 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Bird just might make you a little weak in the knees.
Restored by a Senior Master Concours Judge, this F-code supercharged 1957 Ford Thunderbird is one of 197 ever built, but better yet, it is only one of three built in this color combination – Colonial White with a Thunderbird Copper interior and tan soft top. It even features the original factory invoice and build sheet from Ford Motor Company where it is documented as a special order by Ford of Hollywood, CA.
The heart of this beauty is powered by a rebuilt, supercharged, 4-barrel Thunderbird V-8 engine good for 312 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, Master Guide power steering, chrome wire wheels with wide whitewall tires, fender skirts, and accessory backup lights.
If interested, this gem (Lot S126.1) will cross the auction block on Saturday, October 12th at 2:35 p.m. Check out more photos here.
