One "50 Year" 2015 Mustang Convertible To Be Built For MS Raffle
Raffle Will Benefit Multiple Sclerosis Research
The real deal was revealed last month at Charlotte Motor Speedway at the 50th Mustang Birthday Celebration -- the 2015 50 Year Limited-Edition Ford Mustang fastback. While the "50 Year" Limited-Edition Ford Mustang won't be available in drop top, Ford is producing only one to raffle off in support of multiple sclerosis research.
This one-of-a-kind convertible Mustang GT will come equipped with performance pack as well as a few select goodies from the 50 Year fastback edition. Wimbledon White is the exterior paint of choice for the convertible.
Ford has been a huge supporter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and now this one-of-one ’15 Ford Mustang convertible will be raffled off this summer during the annual Woodward Dream Cruise on August 16, 2014.
“We’re thrilled to be able to work with and help The National MS Society again,” said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, global product development. “As pleased as we are to be able to help financially with the Society’s No Opportunity Wasted research project, we also feel it’s important to help raise greater awareness of this terrific program. That we’re creating one – and only one – Mustang GT 50 Years convertible for the Society shows how much we respect and support their efforts.”
This special convertible GT will be built with the first regular production 2015 Mustang GT convertibles this fall and will feature the 5.0L V-8 capable of more than 420 horsepower and over 390 lb-ft of torque. Shifting power will come from a six-speed manual transmission and will be the only 2015 Mustang convertible to come equipped with performance pack. Part of the performance pack includes a limited-slip differential, 19-inch Pirelli P-Zero summer tires and Brembo six-piston painted front brake calipers.
On the instrument panel will include a badge engraved with the signature of Bill Ford, Executive Chairman for Ford Motor Company. The serialized badge will feature the number 0001 of 0001.
This convertible will come with a chrome-accented grille with corralled pony emblem, chrome trim around the tri-bar taillights, axle spin-finish aluminum instrument panel trim, a “GT 50 Years” identification badge on rear decklid, two-tone cashmere and black leather seats, contrasting cashmere stitching throughout interior such as instrument panel, steering wheel, shift boot, door inserts and seats, loop carpet floor mats with cashmere stitching and cashmere binding, 19-inch Y-spoke wheels inspired by the chrome wheels on the first production Mustang, and an owners guide inside a leather portfolio sporting the “50 Years” badge.
You can purchase your ticket now through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Michigan Chapter and Ford Motor Company while they are still available. Tickets are $20 a piece and ticket requests can be placed online anytime through www.ford4ms.com or through phone at 800/243-5767 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday.
