NASCAR: Biffle Grabs Ford’s 1,000th win

This past week has proved to be one for Ford’s history books. Greg Biffle navigated his No. 16 Ford Fusion to victory during the Quicken Loans 400 to grab Ford’s 1,000th win for NASCAR. Thanks to Jack Roush, his Roush Fenway Team has collected a total of 313 NASCAR victories over the past 25 years!

NHRA: A Force to Be Reckoned With

After losing four times in the first round and four more times during the second round of the season, 64-year-old drag racing icon John Force ended his 31-race dry spell with a win against rival Cruz Pedrego during the 13th annual Ford Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway. At the wheel of his Castrol GTX Mustang, Force dominated the final with a 4.148 second run at 305.29 miles per hour! Force gained traction and advanced to the final round after outrunning his daughter Courtney, leader Matt Hagan, and Blake Alexander.

To get back at dad, Courtney Force took the win this past weekend against Force during the New England Nationals!

NHRA: Drew Skillman’s Cobra Jet Mustang Takes Win in Bristol

Drew Skillman showed just what he was capable of after overtaking six other racers – one being a multi-time world champion – with his Cobra Jet Mustang. Skillman stole the show during the NHRA Stock Eliminator at Bristol with a final pass of 9.065 seconds at 150.73 miles per hour! Not too shabby for a CJ that looks like it just rolled off of the showroom floor!

Mark “Frosty” Winterbottom Takes First V8 Supercars Win at Darwin

Ford Performance Racing’s Mark Winterbottom broke his 13-month winless drought after taking the lead in lap seven with his Ford FG Falcon during the first race of 2013 for V8 Supercars in Australia. Will Davidson was following closely in second before losing traction in the final stretch, finishing in fourth place.

Ford Racing 347 Sealed Engines Sweep Podium

The Blue Oval 347 sealed racing engine is a beast on the track as it gained wins in two tough races in the late model stock series. During the American Canadian Tour race at Canaan Speedway in New Hampshire, Joey “Pole” Polewarczyk swept up the competition. Wayne Helliwell Jr. and Glen Luce, also Ford racers, took second and third.

Ronnie Basset Jr.’s S347SR-powered Ford Fusion took the win at South Carolina’s Anderson Motor Speedway during the UARA-Stars Tour. Travis Swaim took second place after getting lapped by Bassett and Garrett Jones took third place making Ford the only podium winner.

SCCA June Sprints at Road America

The SCCA June Sprints included a few Ford racers claiming victories by Bart Wolf and Scott Rettich during the Sports 2000 and Spec Racer Ford races during Saturday’s limited schedule. Going through Sunday, Ford drivers continued to outperform the competition. Andy McDermid of Howell, MI shined with his Mustang while Christopher Miller grabbed the win with his Ford-powered Van Diemen during the Formula Continental Class. Brian Schofield took the Spec Racer Ford win and Michael Scomavacchi won the Touring 4 in his Mustang.
