Hedman Hedders Returns To Sponsor NMCA West’s Nostalgia Street Car Class

Hedman continues its support of grassroots drag racing for the 2013 season. Check out their press release below for more details.

It’s no secret that Hedman Hedders Nostalgia Street Car was one of the most popular classes of the NMCA West’s 2012 season. Open to production cars made prior to 1983, this index racing division provides a level playing field for drivers of 8-second and 15-second cars alike. Add in a chance to win a real NHRA Wally and you’ve got the recipe for intense drag racing action that Hedman Hedders is once again proud to support for the 2013 season.

The Hedman Hedders Nostalgia Street Car class emphasizes driver skill over anything else by prohibiting the use of electronic aids, such as delay boxes, and throttle stops, but does allow transmission brakes and power-adders.

Populated by Camaros, Novas, Darts, Galaxies, and more, with 15 different indexes, having the quickest car doesn’t mean you have the winning car – consistency and familiarity with your car are what you need to win.

“This is a ‘David versus Goliath’ division where cars with no modifications other than a set of Hedman Hedders can be competitive against a nitrous-fed, blown big block,” said Marc Lewis of the Hedman Performance Group.

“This makes for a racing experience that is just as exciting for the spectators as it is for the person in the driver’s seat.

To be associated with such a diverse group of competitors is a great fit for the broad lineup of products Hedman offers.”

For the 2013 season, the four-stop series will be hitting some of the most famous drag racing venues on the west coast including the Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA.

Adding to the excitement of racing at such storied tracks is the chance to go home with a coveted NHRA Wally trophy.

The NMCA West Street Car Series kicks off April 5, 2013 at the Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California.
