Mustangs from all across America converged on Norman, Oklahoma earlier this week in preparation to drive across the country to one of two Mustang 50th anniversary birthday parties, one in Las Vegas the other in Charlotte. The Mustang owners came from all across the United States to drive together in the Great American Pony Drive.

Starting off with a two day celebration in Oklahoma, the Mustang owners set out East and West along great roads like historic Route 66. The Mustang caravans will take them to the Mustang 50th anniversary parties that begin Thursday April 17th and run through the weekend. Both Vegas and Charlotte anniversary events include vendor displays, show cars, racing, presentations, and more..

Former Mustang Monthly editor Donald Farr is currently on the eastern leg heading towards Charlotte, North Carolina. Ford has loaned Donald a 2014 Shelby GT500 coupe to drive on the tour. To say we're jealous is an understatement. The eastern leg is due to arrive in Charlotte late Wednesday evening on April 15th. We will have full coverage of all the Great American Pony Drive festivities, including their three evenings stops along the way, right here at Mustang 360 and in upcoming issue of Mustang Monthly magazine.
