The Roush Stage 3 Mustang is back for 2014, and it’s better than ever. The RS3 Ford Mustang is the epitome of modern American muscle on steroids, putting its increased power to the pavement through Roush’s handling, braking, and other updates into one impressive package. Helping the Coyote 5.0 live up to its performance potential, the Roushcharged powertrain seriously gets this pony pumping. The V8-powered engine features the award-winning Eaton Twin Vortices Series (TVS) technology with a R2300 supercharger connected to Roush’s high-efficiency intercooler. The OE-level PCM Calibration bumps this beast up to 575 horsepower and 505 lb.-ft. torque. If that isn’t enough for the heavy footed, opt for the “Aluminator” engine and that block is capable of 625 hp for Phase 2 or 675 hp for the Phase 3 upgrade.

The Roush Performance Suspension System has been calibrated for maximum performance. Roush says cornering, acceleration, and ride quality are all improved thanks to custom-valved front and rear shock absorbers, upgraded front and rear coil springs, a larger front stabilizer bar, and an anti-wheel hop upper control arm for optimum comfort and handling.

Roush has also teamed up with Cooper Tire to create the Zeon RS3-S, an ultra-high performance tire that grabs the massive amount of power generated by the RS3 Mustang and transfers it straight down to the wheels in order to provide maximum traction. With cornering perfected, lateral force capability is in excess of 1.02 gs on the skid pad.

The Roush RS3 was given a mean appearance to back up its menacing demeanor, consisting of the “R6” Aerobody kit, and over 250 color combinations and an optional paint finish by Sherwin Williams to fit any personality. Since the RS3 is already heavily modified all around, only a few other options for the exterior are available, namely quarter window louvers and graphics.

The interior features a custom gauge cluster (for premium base models), embroidered Roush floor mats, Roush center console button, Stage 3 dash medallion, and of course Jack Roush’s signature graphic gracing the dash. Pop the hood and you’ll find the Stage 3 serial number and chassis build plaque.

Those wanting even more for the interior can choose seat upgrades with Roush-embroidered charcoal leather with suede inserts, suede door panel inserts and shift boot all with highlighted custom stitching. Other interior goodies consist of a suede wrapped steering wheel, white or black shifter balls, and Roush sill plates that illuminate in cars featuring ambient lighting.

Other optional upgrades consist of Billet aluminum racing pedals and a convertible light bar. Also, 20-inch wheels are available with the choice of chrome, new graphite, or hyper black with four different brake packages consisting of red two-piston sport, red four-piston performance, black four-piston performance, red six-piston competition. Along with the aforementioned modifications, a trunk mounted tool kit, Roush laser cut hood struts and red or black Roush engine coil covers are available.

Brand new for the ’14 model is a gray-painted X-brace (or painted to match) and matching rear seat delete. Last but not least, that Roush rumble that accompanies that big V8 comes from a dual chamber off-road exhaust system which is music to the ears. Who needs a radio?
