Carlisle Events has announced that 2011 World Drift Series Champion and Maryland native Vaughn Gittin Jr. will return to the Carlisle Fairgrounds for autographs and exhibitions as part of the 2013 Carlisle Ford Nationals on June 7-9.

Tentatively, Gittin’s drift exhibition is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday afternoon. Autograph sessions will also be held during the day. Check the Carlisle schedule for times and locations.

Gittin is one of drifting’s most iconic figures and his Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Racing Mustang is one of the sport’s most identifiable cars. Known by his aggressive style, Gittin is the only American to win a D1 Grand Prix event - not once but twice. In 2005, Gittin stunned the world when he won the D1GP USA vs. Japan competition. In 2007, he brought America the gold once more by winning the D1GP World Championship.

For 2013, Gittin holds down second place in the Formula Drift standings after three events.

In addition to being crowned the World Drift Series Champion in 2011, Gittin has also lent his name to the Mustang brand, collaborating with Ford to offer the RTR package on new Mustangs.
