Charlie’s Angels 1976 Ford Mustang II Cobra II Diecast Available
For those who grew up watching Charlie’s Angels, I’m sure you remember a bold white 1976 Ford Mustang II Cobra II with bright blue racing stripes.
This Cobra II diecast car is now available in 1:18 scale and has it all – TV correct license plate, and a missing Cobra emblem that would normally be seen in the grille (which wasn’t seen until season 5). On top of that, it features the black-wall tires sported during the show. Not wanting to pay royalties to the tire company, the producers of Charlie’s Angels switched the factory tires with raised white lettering for plain black-wall tires.
Those raised with the series remember the three gorgeous detectives – Jacyln Smith as Kelly Garrett, Farrah Fawcett as Jill Munroe and, last but not least, Kate Jackson as Sabrina Duncan. As I’m sure you remember the three women worked for a private investigation agency for Charles “Charlie” Townsend, a mysterious millionaire who never showed his face.
Just a few fun facts about Charlie’s Angels (aired from 1976-1981):
- The show became so popular that it was the first show to break the $100,000 per minute barrier for advertising.
- 18,000 fan letters were sent each week in the US at one point during the series.
- The hair style given to “Jill Munroe” was so popular that a large percentage of females in America starting donning the “Farrah Fawcett Hairdo.”
With that said, this new diecast model will be available at the beginning of October by Greenlight Collectibles.
