Car vs. Bike Marketing: 2011 Ford Mustang GT and 2011 Kawasaki ZX-6R
Marketing is best rated on its relevance, and in this case entertainment value, years down the line. Reebok’s hilarious Terry Tate: Office Linebacker ad series or the explosive TNT TV channel’s “Push to add drama” commercial come to mind (both are worth another watch when bored at work).
On the more obscure side and the feature of this particular blog post is a car versus bike Web ad created by a somewhat new phone case company called Rokform — a business built around developing extremely durable, modifiable phone cases.
To showcase the lengths a person could take this Swiss army knife product, the Rokform iPhone V3 case was magnetically stuck to the side of two vehicles -- a 2011 Ford Mustang GT and a 2011 Kawasaki ZX-6R – and subjected to slew of smoky burnouts, drifts and wheelies.
Professional driver Nathan Swartzbaugh and professional sportbike freestyle rider Tony Carbajal battled it out in a closed lot to see who could knock their iPhone case off first.
Not every Mustang owner would want a guy in a wheelie standing on their hood but it made for some great pictures and video!
Any blasts from the past Mustang commercials stick out in your mind? If so, let us know in the comment thread
