When you hear the name Roush for most enthusiasts the first thought is Mustang, or perhaps NASCAR. However, the folks at Roush have built quite a business off of Ford’s F-Series trucks as well. Of course there are the commercial truck propane gas conversions under the Roush CleanTech label, but we’re talking about Roush’s investment in performance, styling, and more for the base F-150, F-250 Super Duty, and Raptor models.

Roush’s latest for 2018 F-150 owners is its all new Phase 1 supercharger system seen here. Designed for 5.0L V-8 models, the new Phase 1 supercharger kit ups the base Coyote’s output to 650 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque. This is a gain of 255 horsepower and 210 lb-ft, all in a bolt on package that is emissions legal and backed by a three year/36,000 mile powertrain warranty when installed by an authorized Roush dealer or any ASE-certified technician. Roush utilizes many of its vast systems and facilities that test and certify OEM-level parts to validate and test components that go into the Phase 1 supercharger kit for extreme durability, reliability and emissions compliance.

“We are as passionate about creating a no-compromise, cutting-edge performance lifestyle as truck enthusiasts are about living it,” said Tony Marszalek, Executive Director of Aftermarket Products. “Thousands of hours of research and testing went into the development of this Roush supercharger, including testing in extreme environmental conditions to ensure quality and performance in all locations—on or off the road.”

This Phase 1 supercharger kit is highlighted by the use of a TVS (Twin Vortices Series) supercharger assembly, developed by Roush Performance in collaboration with Eaton. The TVS rotor package has been used for many years in the Roush Mustang and F-150, and in Roush supercharger kits. The TVS technology rotating assembly delivers more power and better fuel economy in a highly engineered, proven package.

Unlike turbocharging or centrifugal superchargers, the Phase 1 supercharger provides near instant throttle response and increased power through the engine’s entire power band. The 2.65L supercharger is a roots-type positive displacement supercharger that features twin four-lobe rotors that twist 170 degrees. The innovative fourth lobe and added twist allows for a more efficient and powerful system than others on the market with improved noise and vibration characteristics.

“It is Jack Roush’s lifelong passion for highly engineered, powerful performance to be the driving force of Roush Performance. We have no doubt this supercharger will transform your truck,” said Marszalek. The fully integrated kit includes all necessary installation hardware, OEM-level electrical connections and cooling system hoses, as well as an exclusive Roush Performance calibration.
