Cleaning your Mustang has become much easier, and quicker with Mothers latest products
It took a while for spring to finally arrive, but for most of the nation, temperatures are coming up, and it’s time to get that Mustang out on the streets. After being cooped up in the garage, or under a cover, there’s bound to be a lot of cleaning that needs to be done in order to get it ready for the show.
Thankfully, there are car care manufacturers like Mothers who come to our rescue to make sure we’re not embarrassed to be driving our ‘Stangs. We met with Mothers representatives recently, and a short couple weeks later, a care package arrived in the mail with new products for us to try on our Mustangs.
As Mustang enthusiasts, our wheel game has to be on point, but that also includes the tires, as well. We don’t know a Mustang owner who doesn’t feel the same way. Mothers’ has many products aimed at making sure your Mustang’s wheels and tires shine like diamonds in the sky. The company’s Polished Aluminum Wheel Cleaner is so easy to use a magazine editor can make a set of wheels look like brand new. The Back-to-Black Tire Shine and the Speed Tire Shine complete the look of brand new wheels and tires. We tried these products, but more on them later.
One of the Mothers products we can’t wait to try is the Speed Clay 2.0. Mothers bills this product as its “fastest, most durable and versatile paint restoration and surface prep tool yet.” This product takes the clay process, and makes it much easier. Instead of running out of a clay bar, the Speed Clay 2.0’s rubber polymer technology “quickly shears off and removes both surface and embedded contaminants, including paint overspray, water spots, fresh tree sap, rail dust, bird droppings, light oxidation and brake dust.” All of these things can, in the long run, damage your Mustang’s paint. Speed Clay 2.0 is designed to stop this damage and restore your Mustang’s paint, glass and plastics. You can use Speed Clay 2.0 with either car wash or Mothers Speed Spray Wax.
A couple other Mothers products we need to put to use is the PowerBall Mini MD and the PowerCone 360. We have a set of polished 1999-2001 Cobra wheels on a 2000 Mustang GT that need attention, and we’re eager to try both of these with Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish, and following it up with Mothers California Gold Synthetic Paste Wax. We’ve tried using t-shirts, rags, and the like, paired with microfiber towels to remove the polish, but the PowerBall Mini MD and PowerCone 360 should help us make quick work of bringing the wheels back to life once and for all.
We plan to use every product we received from Mothers, but we wanted to highlight a few of the products we are anxious to try, and to also let you know how they work. Also, if you know us, our Mustangs need all the help they can get.
