Mustang Brand Manager Mark Schaller Talks Bullitt and GT500
Catching up the head guy on the Mustang platform, Mark Schaller, at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2018 about the Bullitt and upcoming GT500
By now you’ve seen, read, and viewed all the news about the new-for-2019 Bullitt Mustang, introduced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan in January 2018. At the same show, they teased us with a video about the upcoming GT500 and said very little about the car, other than it will have north of 700 horsepower. Yeah baby! Can you say Hellcat Hunter?
After NAIAS, Bullitt VIN 001 headed West to Scottsdale, Arizona for the huge Barrett-Jackson auction and television extravaganza, where it was auctioned to a winning bid of $300,000 to benefit the Boys Republic, a California-based school and treatment community for troubled youngsters, which McQueen himself once attended. Barrett-Jackson waives all fees on these special “cars for a cause” so 100 percent of that 300 large goes straight to the charity.
Roving Mustang-360.com contributor Jerry Heasley caught up with Mustang Brand Manager Mark Schaller to ask him about the Bullitt and also try to pry some information out of him about the GT500. See what he has to say.
