The car that started most of this insanity for many of us is the Fox coupe. Light, fast, and crude, the Fox Mustang is probably most responsible for many of us being in this hobby. These days, it’s common to see the latest technology being poured into Fox Mustangs. Coyote swaps, the latest transmission and drivetrain technology, and even custom gauges have made major headway into our favorite Fox Mustangs.

Erik McDonald’s LX coupe, also competing in our Pro Dyno Battle at the Beach, featuring a 2014 Coyote engine with a Boss intake, and Precision twin turbochargers. Behind the Coyote is a Tremec T56 transmission with a McLeod RXT clutch, a built IRS with Driveshaft Shop Level 5 axles, and 3.55 gears. The finishing touch on Erik’s coupe is a set of True Forged wheels with 18x7s up front and 18x10s out back with Nitto treads.

Not only is Erik’s coupe squeaky clean, it should make nice power on Pro Dyno’s portable dyno come Thursday morning. There are a couple ways to catch the Battle at the Beach. One is to be at North Myrtle Beach Drag Strip Thursday morning. The other way is to tune into our Facebook page for the live video. Either way, you’ll want to see Erik’s coupe in action.
