Every year families all across the nation struggle to figure out what to get dear old dad for Father’s Day. Perhaps some cheap tool he’ll either never use or will break on the first use? Been there, done that. Perhaps you should get dad some nice cologne for when he takes mom out on a hot date. Eww, don’t even want to think about that. Of course there’s the nifty necktie option, that is if he even wears a tie to work and in this day and age I’m betting he doesn’t. So what can you get dear old dad that will be original and something he’ll actually use? We’ve got just the thing, so read on!

When the press release came across our desk for the Traxxas licensed Bigfoot #1 monster truck our jaw hit the desk. Wow! The radio control car and truck fanatics at Traxxas not only partnered with Ford, but with Bigfoot and others to build a fully licensed and accurate replica body for their monster truck line of radio controlled trucks (based off of its super popular and long running Stampede chassis). We were so awestruck we immediately typed up a news item about it for the holiday buying season. If you missed it you can read it HERE, and we now have one in house to look at in more detail in the photos and video below. So, if pops didn’t get this for Christmas you can still put a smile on his face by grabbing one for Father’s Day. But hurry, you only have a few days left!

The scale licensed Ford truck body is incredibly detailed and includes scale replica graphics just like the original #1 Bigfoot ran back in the early days of the monster truck craze.
While most polycarbonate R/C bodies are one molded piece, Traxxas went the extra mile tooling up real chrome plastic bumpers, grille, roll bar, lights, and of course those memorable Predator carburetors “poking” through the hood.
Like all proper monster trucks, Traxxas has outfitted the Bigfoot #1 truck with scale appearing rubber tires with simulated carved tire treads on industrial bead lock-look wheels.
The Traxxas Stampede 2WD chassis has been around for a long time and has quite the following. It is a strong, yet easy chassis to work on and there are hundreds of upgrade parts from a multitude of sources available to upgrade and service your rig. Our first upgrade will be the Traxxas wheelie bar; we don’t want to put a scratch on that killer body with a potential roll over (this truck wheelies like crazy!).
Traxxas fitted the Bigfoot #1 monster truck with water proof electronics. Shown here is the electronic speed control (ESC) and inside the water proof black housing is the radio system’s receiver. No worries about getting the electronics wet and cutting dad’s fun short!
At the rear is the trusty Traxxas Titan 12-turn brushed motor. This motor has plenty of power and the optional pinion gear included will provide even more once dad gets used to driving it!
