As many of you know, the NMRA Ford Motorsport Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway were rained out. After the event the NMRA had to figure out a plan on how to finish up the event at the next event, which is the upcoming Ford SuperNationals at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio. The SuperNationals take place June 8-11, 2017 just outside Columbus, Ohio.

For racers and SuperNationals attendees, here’s how the Motorsport Nationals will be finished up. Friday June 9, 2017 racers from the Motorsport Nationals will get a time trial that morning at National Trail Raceway. Then, at 1PM eliminations will begin in all classes for those participants. Elimination rounds will follow throughout the day on Friday, until the final rounds that evening.

Intertwined in all this, those competitors who weren’t at the Ford Motorsport Nationals will get time trial runs in between the elimination rounds. The evening of June 9, for Ford Motorsport Nationals finalists, that run will also be their first round of qualifying. Once the finals are over from the Ford Motorsport Nationals, the SuperNationals event goes on as planned, with second round of qualifying taking place for everyone the morning of June 10, 2017.

And if anyone says the “R word” prior to the SuperNationals, you’ll have to wash Carlos Sobrino’s Coyote Stock car all weekend.

Friday June 9, 2017 Ford Motorsport Nationals racers need to be up bright and early to be ready for their time trial, and then eliminations, which will start at 1p.m.
And as you can see by the rest of Friday’s schedule, there won’t be very much downtime if you go rounds. The final round in each class from the Motorsport Nationals will also serve as round 1 qualifying for the SuperNationals.
