Generation M Contest Winner Completes Project
Andrew Wallace wraps his 1966 Mustang and hits the road
In 2016 we held a contest sponsored by Tony D. Branda Shelby & Mustang Parts where Mustang owners under 35 had a chance to win a gift certificate from Branda to help with their project or restoration. All you had to do was submit a video telling us about your Mustang. These videos were posted to Mustang Monthly’s Facebook page and our staff would choose a winner each month. We’ve received updates from a few winners but we recently heard from our February 2016 winner, Andrew Wallace. You can see his original story and video submission HERE. Andrew has now finished his 1966 Mustang and started driving it to events.
“I can’t believe it has been more than a year since I won the Generation M contest. It took three years and seven months, but I finished my 1966 Mustang a few weeks ago in time to take it to the Fabulous Fords Forever 2017 at Knott’s Berry Farm. While I’m not one to usually enter car shows—I’d rather drive my car than sit in the hot sun for 6 plus hours—going to the Fab Fords show, and more recently participating in a local Mustang club’s annual show, has been a fun way to savor the success of completion,” stated Andrew. He went on to thank Mustang Monthly for our technical articles, which he says were invaluable throughout his restoration work. Andrew’s update included a few photos of the finished Mustang, which we’re sharing in the photo gallery below, including a photo of Andrew from the recent Mustang Owners of California’s Warner Center Park show where Andrew took home a much unexpected award for Best Engine out of the 70 or so stock and “personalized” cars in attendance.
