The annual SEMA show is the perfect place for new companies or companies entering the automotive aftermarket to display their products to distributors, buyers, and even end users. First time exhibitors are generally placed in a dedicated area of the show in the upper South Hall area. It can be a bit of a hike for some, with these first time exhibitors being all the way in the rear of a very long hall, but the sore feet are worth it when you find gems like the Waylens Horizon camera!

Waylens [] is a new company that we found in the first time exhibitors area. Their camera system allows for recording HD video through your windshield while overlaying performance data such as 0-60, boost, rpm, and much more. The unit connects to your vehicle’s OBD II port to pull these parameters, but the Waylens Horizon also features a three-axis accelerometer, three-axis gyro, three-axis Magnetometer, GPS, and a barometer, allowing the Waylens Horizon to be used in non-OBD II vehicles.

The actual camera portion features a high-quality spherical glass 157-degree lens with an image sensor processor that processes 318 million pixels per second. Powered by an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the Waylens Horizon does include a power port cable to maintain power when in use as well. The included app allows quick video acquisition and sharing via social channels. The Waylens Horizon records in 720P and 1080P HD and the built-in internal stereo mic easily pics up your audio. With a full touch screen interface the Waylens Horizon is quick and easy to setup and use. The Waylens Horizon is currently available for preorder and we’re certainly looking forward to testing one and following up with a full review soon.

Once free of the ingenious packaging (seen in our lead photo) and assembled, the Waylens Horizon looks like so and is ready to be mounted to your windshield.
