Arriving early to the SEMA show each day has its good and bad points. Good: Not very many people in the way to take photos. Bad: Sometimes the booths are all covered up and there’s nothing to take photos of! We stopped by to see our friends at Scott Drake two times during SEMA week and their booth was all closed up. The third time was the charm though as we finally caught the Scott Drake people at the perfect time.

Highlighting the Drake booth at the 2016 SEMA show was the restored 1969 Mustang 428 Cobra Jet race car of Hubert Platt, aka the Georgia Shaker. Platt raced this particular Mustang in NHRA Super Stock and set four NHRA records with it. The race car, owned by Gary and Mary Schwartz from Merrill, Wisconsin, was restored by Jacky Jones and the Scott Drake booth at the 2016 SEMA show was the Mustang's official debut. Skim the captions for the details on several new bits from Scott Drake and hit your favorite Drake dealer for availability and pricing.

We’ve seen the new Scott Drake gauge panels, but this was our first opportunity to see them stuffed with the optional gauges.
If you’re building a restomod or a custom, Scott Drake now offers the classic GT badge with a black background.
Coming soon are these billet hood hinges. We can’t wait to install a set of these ourselves.
Again, suited more for the restomod crowd, Scott Drake now offers a billet battery tray assembly that bolts right in place of the stock piece.
For you 2015 and up Mustang owners Scott Drake offers these slick looking hood vent inserts, with the black mesh insert being their latest version.
Scott Drake has manufactured billet under hood fluid caps for the 2005 and up Mustangs for many years. They’ve received numerous requests for black coated caps from Mustang owners and they released them at the SEMA show this year. They look great too!
