Steeda Autosports has been on the leading edge of Mustang performance since before the time of participation trophies. Steeda earned its place in Mustang lore through innovative products, groundbreaking performance, and the use of leading-edge technology. Since the Fox days, Steeda Autosports has fostered a performance mindset that continues today.

To foster a little friendly competition between the Big 3, Steeda Autosports came up with Pony Wars, which is a drag race/autocross event and car show open to Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, Chargers, and maybe even a CTS-V or two. Basically, it’s open to all domestic performance cars, it’s called Pony Wars, and it takes place this Saturday October 22nd at South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP), just north of Valdosta, Georgia.

Pony Wars takes place on Saturday, but on Friday October 21st, there’s a tour of Steeda’s Valdosta manufacturing facility from 1pm to 5pm. Following the tour, there’s a pre-party meet at Hooters on Club House Drive in Valdosta.

The Pony Wars will also have an autocross section to try out your Mustang’s handling prowess. Just remember, regardless if you’re drag racing, or trying out the autocross, a helmet is required, so don’t leave your brain bucket at the house.

For Saturday’s drag race, there will be three classes to compete in; there’s a Quick 8, All-Motor Heads-up class, and an Open Comp-format class. The Open Comp portion will pair those of similar times to make it more like a heads-up category, but it will still be based on an Open Comp, index-format.

The All-Motor class is designed for cars with full interiors and drag radials, while the Quick 8 will feature the quickest 8 cars of the day, pairing them up at the end of the day in a heads-up format. Gates open at 9am Saturday with open test and tune, and grudge runs taking place from 9am to 5pm.

The car show will take place from 10am to 3:30, and class eliminations start at 2:30. Test and tune goes all day, so Pony Wars presents a great opportunity to put some test passes on your Mustang, while beating up on Brand-X cars, as well. You can also expect to see a mobile Dynojet on the property, and for $99 you’ll get 3 pulls with a printout to show your friends proof of your Mustang’s output.

If that sounds like fun to you, and it does to us, we’ll see you at Hooters Friday night, and Saturday at SGMP.
