When it comes to Mustang drag racing, the National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA) has the market cornered. With changes in class rules bringing in more and more racers, each NMRA race features a thrilling line-up of Ford drag racing classes, car shows, and exclusive events. The NMRA was established in 1999 to bring competitive, grassroots Ford drag racing to a track near you, and there’s no slowing down in 2017.

Right out of the gate, the 23rd Annual Spring Break Shootout will be March 2-5 at Bradenton Motorsports Park. "Our hugely popular Spring Break Shootout is established as a destination event for thousands of Ford fans across the country,” said General Manager, Rollie Miller.

Following the Spring Break Shootout is a combined NMRA/NMCA event with the All-Star Nationals at Atlanta Dragway April 6-9. In May, the 17th Annual Ford Motorsport Nationals takes place at Maple Grove Raceway May 4-7. To help ring in the summer season, the 14th Annual NMRA Ford Supernationals takes place at National Trail Raceway, just outside Columbus, Ohio June 8-11. To signal an end to summer, the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing takes place July 27-30 at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois.

One of the largest classes within the NMRA is the True Street class. Competitors must have street-driven cars, and make three back-to-back passes in a quest for dragstrip supremacy.

The Super Bowl represents the home stretch of the 2017 schedule, and when competitors hope to have a championship wrapped up, or to be in serious contention. That’s because, as it has been for years, the last race of the year is at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky September 28 – October 1. The 19th Annual All-Ford World Finals is the last chance for competitors to put their pedals to the metal in search of an NMRA championship. The World Finals also brings cool fall air so records are definitely in jeopardy, and what better track is there than Beech Bend to close out a racing season?!

“We’re thrilled to return to Bradenton, Florida as well as locations like Maple Grove, Pennsylvania and Bowling Green, Kentucky, where the NMRA fans and racers are eager to see us in 2017,” Rollie adds.

We’re thrilled to be at every race to bring you the action. Will we see you in 2017?
