Summit Racing Equipment Expands With Fourth Distribution Center
Latest location to be based in Texas and include retail store as well
As an automotive enthusiast we’ve all no doubt ordered parts from Summit Racing Equipment for our rides. From performance parts for our Mustangs to replacement parts for the daily drivers (and now even restoration parts for you vintage Mustang owners!), Summit offers tens of thousands of parts for anything with two or four wheels. Since Summit operates out of the Dallas–Fort Worth area, Texas customers and those in adjacent states will now be able to get their parts with one-day delivery for in-stock parts. The new distribution center will be designed for efficient order processing and will be large enough to stock thousands of parts from the more than 1,200 brands that Summit carries for shipping or retail purchase at the onsite retail location.
“Summit Racing is committed to providing our customers with the best possible service, and that includes fast shipping and delivery,” explained Nan Gelhard, the company’s advertising manager. “With the addition of our Texas facility, we will have four distribution centers. We will be able to deliver parts to more customers in the continental U.S. in just one to two days.”
Part of the build-out for the new distribution center is a retail operation that Summit calls a Retail Super Store for enthusiasts within driving distance or those passing through (who can have the parts they buy shipped home). The new retail operation will feature 32,000 square feet of product displays ranging from parts to accessories, and even tools for racing, street performance, trucks, and off-road vehicles, restoration, late-model vehicles, ATVs and UTVs, and motorcycles.
“The Retail Super Store gives customers the opportunity to see parts in person and talk directly with a tech adviser about their projects,” Gelhard continued. “You can place an order on summitracing.com and pick it up in the store. If you’re visiting from out of town, you can order at the store and have it shipped to your home.”
Construction of the Texas facility is scheduled for early fall 2016. The company plans to ship orders from the new distribution center starting in mid-2017. The Retail Super Store will open shortly afterward.
