Third Annual Pre-Woodward Event Promises Two Days of Automotive Fun
Two days of fun just before the annual Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit
The Woodward Dream Cruise, held annually in Michigan is an event that people from all over the world come to see. However, for the last few years a growing event has been taking place just before the Dream Cruise where people can enjoy a little performance driving, a BBQ dinner and car show, and more. The Motor City Roundup, now in its third year, packs a lot of pre-Dream Cruise fun into just two days.
Hosted by Tremec Transmissions, the 3rd Annual Motor City Roundup is being held August 18-19, 2016. Beginning on Thursday the 18th attendees will get a chance to run the beautiful Grattan Raceway in Belding, Michigan via a performance driving event. Open to all makes and models, the performance driving event is designed for road course enthusiasts of all levels, from first time enthusiasts through professional racers. Spectator rides are a good way for enthusiasts to feel the excitement of on track action and are open to persons 16 years and older.
During the lunch hour tech talk sessions, industry experts will discuss factors to consider when an enthusiast equips their vehicle for track days or a full racing setup. The tech sessions are free for all to enjoy. In addition, there will be classroom and in-car coaching to hone vehicle handling and control skills. The Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC) Motor City Region will provide a staff of professional instructors, trained in all vehicle types. The Manufacturer’s Midway will showcase leading performance industry products with specialists on hand to answer questions as well.
On day two, Friday, August 19 the Motor City Roundup moves to MRT Performance headquarters in Plymouth, Michigan for a pre-Dream Cruise BBQ dinner and car show. The MRT staff will be serving up BBQ from 4-7 p.m. with display vehicles of all makes and models available for enthusiasts to peruse. Raffle prizes and more are planned for the show.
