It’s an essential part of drag racing—the famed burnout before reaching the starting line. The burnout is used to clean the tires off and heat them up enough to leave a layer of rubber on the starting line for the tires to achieve maximum traction with upon launching. During Friday’s qualifying runs we stuck close to the water box and captured the following shots for those that just love to see slicks go up in billowing tire smoke. Smoke ’em if you got ’em right?
