US Postal Service Honors the American Pickup with Stamps
Pickups Go Postal
The US Postal Service just announced its upcoming release of four different Forever stamps to commemorate the American pickup truck. Amusingly the Postal Service can’t confirm exactly what the date is when the new stamps will arrive, but assured it will be sometime in 2016.
Around Ford collectors there’s an old expression that goes, “there’s Ford and then there’s can’t afford — but don’t get discouraged if you can’t afford to collect the real thing the US Postal Service has come to the rescue. For just a mere 49-cents, the current First-Class Mail one-ounce rate, a stamp collector with a penchant for classic trucks can choose from one of four old pickups, or splurge and collect the whole set.
Absent from the collection is the most iconic of all classic trucks the 1956 Ford F-100 Big-Window short bed, but don’t fret Ford fans there is a 1948 F-1, or a great example of the 1965 F-100, a Styleside short bed with a V8.
