Carl Tasca Makes Quickest Cobra Jet Pass Running 7.54 at 185 mph!
One for the CJ record books!
Settled just outside of bustlin’ O-town in quiet Bithlo, Florida, the sweet smell of race gas and burnout smoke filled the warm air, and the roar of high horsepower engines from Pro Mods to dragsters could be heard nearly every corner surrounding Speedworld, where testing was taking place for the upcoming race season.
The track may have been a bit bumpy, but that didn’t stop Carl Tasca from popping a wheelie and piloting his 2010 Cobra Jet Mustang down the quarter-mile, nabbing a lightning quick 7.54-second pass that capped off at an impressive 185.56 mph. That makes this run one for the CJ record books!
Although not NHRA legal, Carl Tasca’s white Cobra Jet features a powerful Chris Holbrook Racing supercharged 5.4L, bumping this Mustang in the neighborhood of 1,400 horsepower.
Carl’s CJ, named Miss Giada after his granddaughter, has the names of his grandkids proudly displayed on the rear along with a photo of his father Bob Tasca Sr., the man who helped shape Ford’s high performance cars, and of course, the late Carroll Shelby. After the amazing pass, Carl Tasca had his trademark cigar in one hand and a record-breaking time slip in the other. Congrats, Carl! We’ll see you in Bradenton.
