Angela and Mark Babala of MAB Motors in Yermo, California (check out their Facebook page at Facebook.com/MabMotors) have been building early Mustangs to be on display at the 2012 and 2013 Detroit International Auto Show, cars for casinos, and for celebrities, and just recently built this early fastback for a charity raffle supporting the Pirate Toy Fund (PirateToyFund.org) that supplies toys year-round to over 70 agencies that provide aid and comfort to thousands of children in the greater Rochester, New York area.

The car itself is an early April-build A-code 289/four-speed car, black on black with a Hurst shifter but otherwise restored to stock, and with less than 1,000 miles on the restoration. It was also once owned by actor Dayton Callie of Sons of Anarchy and Deadwood fame. MAB Motors is donating the car to the Pirate Toy Fund’s raffle, with the drawing happening in a few days, December 21, 2015, so if you want to get in on the action and buy a raffle ticket, go to https://www.raffleriver.com/app/raffle.jsp?raffleID=3209.

MAB Motors also announced that they are going to be the subject of a new TV show in 2016. Called Angel’s Garage and appearing on April 16th on one of the Discovery channels, show producer Bill Mayfield said, “This show is different—it shows the real problems [with real-world car] builds. We geared this show on realness, not the polished side of that industry but the real side. It’s hilarious, as Angela Babala is a firecracker. She runs the office and does the body work and interior while her husband Mark Babala rebuilds engines, does the metal work, welding, wiring, etc.” Watch for more details on the TV show, and go the site to enter the raffle. If you happen to win the car, let us know and we’ll do an update!
