If you've been in the Mustang world at all in the last decade or so, you know who Mike Murillo is. He's a legendary small tire Outlaw Mustang drag racer with 14 Drag Racing World Championships in both NMRA and NMCA. You might have seen him on House of Grudge or even on Street Outlaws but one thing is for sure, he's got a fan following that's almost as long as Santa Claus' naughty and nice list combined.

Of course, his SCT Performance-sponsored twin-turbo Fox-body Notchback Outlaw 10.5 car is just about as famous too. Running 6 seconds in the quarter-mile at over 200 mph will get you serious notoriety. Lafawnduh, as the insanely fast Fox is affectionately referred to as has been a fan favorite for quite some time. Ask anyone in the Mustang Drag Racing world about Lafawnduh and you'll get people excited and talking.

Unfortunately, it seems that Mike was involved in an accident while piloting Lafawnduh down the track at the No Prep Super Bowl Border Wars race at Edinburg Raceway in Texas. Thankfully Mike has already said he is a little banged up but otherwise fine which is great news but unfortunately the same can't be said for the car. The car rolled three times over a guardrail before coming to a stop just outside of the lanes. From the looks of it, it was a violent roll and as Mike says, he hasn't felt like this since his football days. Luckily the safety equipment and roll cage did their job and kept him safe.

We're sad to see Lafawnduh in her current state but we’re glad that she did her job and kept Mike safe and sound. We know that it won't be long before he and the rest of the Murillo Motorsports team is back at it breaking records and smoking the competition in an even faster Mustang.
