To help benefit Purple Heart Homes, Kook’s Kruise In will be held on Saturday, October 10, and promises to have plenty of fun attractions for everyone over the usual show and shine fare.

Held at Kooks’ gigantic state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Statesboro, North Carolina – at the heart of the festivities, Kooks’ is putting on a Dyno Challenge, a Burnout Contest, including a live DJ to host the sounds, a long with trophies being handed out, and a silent auction.

A native of Long Island, New York, “Papa” Kook started out in the late 1950’s building headers and chassis for the dragsters and soon found a market fabricating headers for other racers. In 1962 Papa Kook opened a shop and things really took off from there. By 2008, the decision was made to move operations from Long Island, New York to Statesboro, North Carolina, a venue with a large racing community.

As an active participant in supporting its community, Kook’s Headers is donating the $10.00 entry fee from the event to benefit Purple Heart Homes. A little bit about Purple Heart Homes, the organization was co-founded by two Iraq combat veterans injured during their tour in Iraq, and provides housing solutions to all generations of qualified service connected disabled Veterans. Purple Heart Homes is a veteran service organization that renovates homes for vets that own homes, and helps vets realize the dream of owning a home - Ultimately Purple Heart Homes provides the community a way to show their appreciation.
