Have you ever wondered what those speed ratings on your tires mean? Well, for this Mustang GT owner, the lesson was learned the hard way with everyone watching, including himself.

During a dyno pull, this Mustang GT runs up through the gears on a 200-shot of nitrous, which is a bizarre sight to see on a mobile dyno. Whereas most dyno runs are just done through a single gear, typically whichever gets you to 1:1, this operator spins it up through Fifth gear and near 150-mph wheel speed.

Things go fine until the throttle is released at the top of Fifth, and the already unstable rear tire unloads and then tears off of the wheel. The result is a violent explosion of tire and body panels as the carcass flies off the wheel and whips the entire quarter-panel structure into defeat.
