11.25 Quarter! Street Tire Smoke Gets in Competitor’s Eyes
Rolling on 20-inch Nitto street tires Steeda’s Vortech blown S550 went deep in the 11’s… and oh yeah it was in road race trim.
The team at Steeda was curious how their Vortech supercharged S550 pushing 671 rear wheel horsepower would go at South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP) down the 1,320 while on street tires and still outfitted with a road racing suspension setup. A road racing suspension setup means sway bars on full stiffness, or in other words everything that a drag car doesn’t want.
On the car’s recent outing the humidity was 80-percent that weekend at SGMP, but the bright yellow 2015 Mustang GT didn’t disappoint. It ran an 11.25 ET at 126.78 mph on 20-inch Nitto street tires, and the crew at Steeda Autosports feel it definitely has a lot to give with a bit of fine-tuning. The Steeda crew went on to say “This is a daily drivable 671hp monster that’s capable of high 10′s all the while on the stock fuel pump and chocked full luxuries in the interior.” Stay tuned for updates as the guys at Steeda Autosports aims for the 10’s with its 2015 GT.
