Driving fast—it’s something most of us enjoy—especially when your Ford has an abundance of power and grip. And when you combine a fast Ford with a historic race track you’re set for a weekend of adrenaline and adventure. With this in mind, Team MM&FF headed to Sebring International Raceway for the Track Guys Performance Driving Events Sebring Sensation. This was the Track Guys 14th time to Florida for this event and like in year’s past, it offered a full compliment of instruction and speed for all levels of enthusiasts, from those who have never turned a wheel in anger, to the seasoned track dawgs.

We hooked up with Steeda Autosports to drive the latest 2015 Ford Mustang with its Q650 package. The yellow screamer was enhanced with a Vortech supercharger, Steeda G-Trac suspension, good rubber with sharp graphics and bodywork. We have a full report and video coming soon to the pages of MM&FF and to Mustang-360.com, so stay tuned. We can tell you the Mustang was amazing on track and around town. It was compliant, neutrally balanced, and has amazing power and brakes. Plus it has a wicked slammed stance.

We also gave rides in the full-race Number 20 Steeda S197 Ford Mustang, which is a supercharged and caged animal of a Mustang. It sports all the top-level goodies from Steeda and packs a 650 hp Vortech-blown Three-Valve modular 4.6L engine. It has power, ridiculous grip and brakes forever!

Not surprisingly, the event drew cars from Texas, Canada and most states in between. We saw the gang from VMP, UPR, TMS and many other Mustang outfits. Track Guys runs the full 12 Hours of Sebring course and there was track time O-plenty. The track combines tight complex turns with sweepers and long straights to give participants a big thrill every lap.

While the event is open to all makes and models, the Ford presence is dominant. We saw early Mustangs and virtually every model Ford Mustang from 1987 to present. This included Boss 302s, Bullitts, Shelby GT500s, Cobras, V6ers and GTs. There was even a Cobra roadster replica. And while we love mixing up with Mustang owners, it’s more fun chasing down and passing those Porsches and Corvettes!

Track guys has many events, and you can see where they’ll be next at www.trackguys.com. The events are designed for enthusiasts like you. There are run groups to fit your skill level, classroom instruction, excellent instructors and each event includes parade laps for the whole family, ride-alongs, and special deals, too.
